Summer may be officially over, but September is shaping up to become Virginia’s unofficial pride month with six Pride events happening throughout the Commonwealth. Pack a bag and plan a road trip as events start next weekend and run through the end of September!
September 14, 11 am – 7 pm, Sprint Pavilion
Cville Pride week begins on Saturday, September 7 with a Youth Pride Picnic with events nearly every day next week, including a day after brunch on September 15. For more information, check out their website:
September 14, 12 pm – 1 am, 309 N. Sycamore
Organized by Tri-Cities Pride, Inc., Petersburg Out & Proud is focused on spreading awareness through education to the citizens of the Tri-Cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg, as well as the surrounding counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, and Prince George.
September 13-15, Cape Charles KOA Campground
Once again, the Cape Charles/Chesapeake KOA campground will be the setting for Cape Charles/ES Pride weekend featuring a pride golf car parade, arts and crafts, s’mores social, family games, live entertainment and a drag brunch.
September 15, 3-6 pm, Billsburg Brewery, Williamsburg
Love is Love is a brand new organization dedicated to bringing together LGBTQ+ folks and allies from the Middle Peninsula. All are welcome to attend their Coming Out Party.
September 21, Harrisonburg
Presented by the Shenandoah Pride Alliance, Harrisonburg is the setting for a celebration of the LGBTQ community and allies in the Shenandoah Valley!
September 28, Richmond, 12- 8 pm
Brown’s Island in downtown Richmond is the location for one of Virginia’s largest Pride celebrations. Musical artist Betty Who is headlining the event that also includes a youth pride stage, vendors, food and other artists.
September 27 – 29, Floyd
Floyd is located on the Blue Ridge Plateau in southwest Virginia and their pride celebration is organized by the Floyd PFLAG chapter. The weekend features a Friday night performance, main stage show on Saturday afternoon and opera & multi-media performances on Sunday.
